Robinhood is no longer just an online broker. In June 2025, the platform made a decisive turn: tokenized stocks, crypto derivatives, staking, and even a Layer 2 blockchain. All while targeting Europe first before expanding further.
200 tokenized American stocks… and much more
At ETHCC in Cannes, in front of a crowd of European regulators and decision-makers, CEO Vlad Tenev announced that European Robinhood users can now invest in over 200 American stocks and ETFs, directly in the form of tokens.
Among the giants available: Apple, Tesla, but also surprises. Robinhood promises tokenized stocks of private companies like OpenAI and SpaceX, a market still almost non-existent for the general public.
And it’s not just a mere announcement: a million dollars in OpenAI tokens have already been transferred to Robinhood Europe, to be distributed to its first users.
With Stock Tokens, our European app is no longer just a crypto wallet. It’s a comprehensive investment platform powered by blockchain.
A new era for crypto derivatives in Europe
Another flagship announcement: the launch of crypto perpetual contracts in the EU. Robinhood promises a seamless experience, with leverage of up to x3, and full integration by the end of the summer.
The message is clear: European users no longer have to go through DEX or unregulated platforms to trade perps. Robinhood aims to become a key player.
In addition, Ethereum and Solana staking is launched for clients in the United States and Europe.
A blockchain Layer 2 made in Robinhood
To support this explosive growth, Robinhood also announces the development of its own Layer 2 blockchain, built on Arbitrum technology.
Objective: a faster, cheaper, and optimized infrastructure for its tokenized products. The native integration of stock tokenization on L2 could shake up the Ethereum ecosystem.
A strategic vision… rewarded in the stock market
Immediate result: $HOOD shares surged by nearly 9%, reaching a new all-time high of $92. A strong signal for Wall Street, validating Robinhood’s Web3 strategy.
By combining tokenization, derivatives, staking, and decentralized infrastructure, Robinhood is no longer just following the trend: it is now seeking to define it.
