Altcoin ETFs Break Records on US Debut

ETFs linked to XRP and Dogecoin have generated a record volume of $54.7 million on their first day of trading, confirming the increasing attraction to altcoins in the US.

The REX-Osprey XRP ETF (XRPR) reached $37.7 million, marking the best start for an ETF in 2025, while the Dogecoin ETF (DOJE) surprised with $17 million.

The easing of SEC rules is accelerating the arrival of new crypto ETFs, and the success of XRP and Dogecoin could trigger a wave of financial innovations beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum.

XRP: The Strongest Launch of the Year

The REX-Osprey XRP ETF (XRPR), listed on Cboe, recorded $37.7 million in volume on its first day. This is the best start for an ETF in 2025, surpassing the highly anticipated Wedbush AI Revolution ETF.

This success illustrates a broader phenomenon: XRP is now as attractive as traditional financial giants. With a market cap that has recently exceeded that of Citigroup, and Ripple’s regulatory push with a bank license application in the US, the ecosystem is closer than ever to institutional finance.

Dogecoin Defies the Skeptics

On the entertainment side, the REX-Osprey Dogecoin ETF (DOJE) also did well: $17 million in volume within 24 hours, placing it in the top 5 ETF launches of the year.

This performance is even more surprising as Dogecoin still carries its image of a “memecoin” without fundamental value. However, traders’ enthusiasm shows that community power and speculation can compete with more serious projects.

A Market in Full Acceleration

These two launches come after the SEC’s decision to ease crypto ETF listing rules, bringing approval timelines to around 75 days instead of 240. This structural change paves the way for a wave of new financial products linked to cryptocurrencies.

Behind these numbers, a trend is confirmed: investors want alternatives. Bitcoin and Ethereum remain dominant, but diversifying through XRP, Dogecoin, or other altcoin ETFs could reshape the landscape.

Impact for the Markets

The immediate success of XRPR and DOJE could trigger a new race for financial innovation. Asset managers see the demand, and both retail and institutional investors now have a regulated framework to exposure to these assets.

With Bitcoin above $116,000 and the crypto market attracting more traditional capital, ETFs are becoming a necessity. The successful entry of XRP and Dogecoin sends a clear signal: the American finance sector is ready to embrace other altcoins.
