Bitcoin: OKX exchange joins soccer world in partnership with Manchester City

After F1 and basketball, cryptos are invading soccer: this week, the OKX exchange concluded a partnership with Manchester City.

The world of Tech and the world of sports are getting closer. Whether it’s car racing (Red Bull/Bybit, Mercedes AMG Petronas/FTX, Crypto.com with F1), soccer (Binance/African Cup of Nations, PSG/Crypto.com), or basketball (NBA/Coinbase), cryptocurrency is quietly but surely inviting itself into the arena of sports competitions.

Strategic asset, competitive advantage or simple marketing move, the alliance between these two worlds is getting stronger; a strengthening that can be put in parallel with the progressive adoption of cryptos all over the world.

Today it is the turn of the famous and historic English soccer club Manchester City to enter the crypto: the Premier League footballers revealed the conclusion of a partnership with the cryptocurrency exchange platform OKX.

OKX, is a cryptocurrency exchange platform, including bitcoin, and is the second largest global derivatives exchange in the world. It ranks second behind Binance in terms of trading volumes.

What is the agreement between the OKX exchange and the Premier League champions Manchester City?

This partnership has a commercial vocation and takes the form of a sponsorship for a period of three years. As part of the deal, the OKX platform had to pay several million dollars to the club.

Together, the two parties, Manchester City and OKX, will work together to offer new services and “experiences” (as they put it) to OKX customers. At the same time, OKX will benefit from a large amount of advertising space, just like when you see the Crypto.com logo on F1 race cars or Coinbase’s logo in different spheres of sports.

In addition, it guarantees the OKX exchange the right to be “present” at the Etihad Stadium and the Academy Stadium. To give an idea, the Etihad Stadium is the 10th largest stadium in the UK. The two together can accommodate more than 60,000 spectators, potential customers for the OKX exchange.

Other partnerships, perhaps in other disciplines, are sure to follow in the near future.
