CZ Becomes Strategic Advisor to Pakistan Crypto Council, Reinforcing the Country’s Ambition to Become a Regional Leader in Web3 and Digital Finance
In a bold and symbolic move, Pakistan has secured the guidance of one of the most influential figures in the crypto world: Changpeng Zhao, founder of Binance. Known simply as ‘CZ’ within the ecosystem, he has become the strategic advisor to the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC), a recently established body aimed at accelerating the country’s digital transformation.
This appointment was announced after an exceptional meeting chaired by the Federal Minister of Finance, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, with the presence of top officials including the President of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), the Governor of the Central Bank, and the Federal Secretaries of Justice and Information Technology. CZ also separately met with the Prime Minister and his deputy, highlighting the strategic importance of this collaboration.
A Strong Message: Pakistan Embracing Crypto Innovation
For the Minister of Finance, this decision represents Pakistan’s firm determination to become a major player in web3 in Asia.
‘This is a historic moment for our country. With CZ by our side, we are accelerating our ambition to position Pakistan as a regional leader in digital finance and blockchain-driven growth.’
Muhammad Aurangzeb
Bilal Bin Saqib, CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council, shares the same sentiment, seeing CZ as a natural mentor: ‘He has built the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange platform. Who better than him to guide us towards a financial future based on freedom and inclusion?’
Crypto and Pakistan: An Ambitious Vision for a Young and Connected Country
As a strategic advisor, CZ will contribute on several key fronts: regulatory framework, education, adoption of Web3 technologies, and infrastructure. The goal is clear: to build a crypto ecosystem that meets international standards while being tailored to local realities, with transparent governance and mass adoption.
‘Pakistan has a population of 240 million, with over 60% being under 30 years. The potential is immense,’ CZ stated. For him, the country could become a new hub of crypto innovation, following in the footsteps of Singapore, Dubai, and Switzerland.
Pakistan Joins the League of Major Players
The establishment of the Pakistan Crypto Council, under the Ministry of Finance, already marks a turning point in the country’s digital strategy. But with CZ’s involvement, a new era begins: one where Pakistan is firmly focused on the future and ready to compete on the same level as global capitals of web3.
This ambitious endeavor could reposition the country on the global technological stage, with one of the most feared and (formerly) respected pioneers of the crypto sphere as the architect of this transformation.
