The long-awaited moment has finally arrived for SHRAPNEL players! STX 3 Early Access begins on May 23, 2024 and continues until May 26, 2024 inclusively.
Over $100,000 worth of tokens to be won and new reward system
In contrast to previous editions, the rewards in SHRAP tokens will not be based on player rankings. Instead, a prize pool of 1 million SHRAP (over $100,000) will be distributed to players who complete specific missions.
This approach aims to include a greater number of participants in the reward system. Among the missions proposed are obtaining 5 eliminations with the Sigma Wave special ability, extracting 3 weapon skin fragments, surviving and extracting from the Sigma Zone 5 times, creating a weapon skin from fragments, obtaining 10 eliminations with a silenced weapon, and extracting 4000 Sigma during the event.
The rewards in SHRAP will be calculated and distributed after data verification and results. NFT Operators holders will receive a SHRAP bonus if they complete all the missions. The rewards will be distributed within 10 business days following the end of the event.
What’s new in the STX 3 edition
In this edition, SHRAPNEL begins to integrate inventory persistence, meaning that weapon skin fragments and wildcards can be extracted in addition to Sigma compound during gameplay. In the future, players will be able to keep successfully extracted loot, such as equipment and weapons, for use in future sessions.
In STX3, this only applies to skin fragments and wildcards. In the event of failed extraction or death, the fragments and wildcards placed in the Secure Pouch will be retained. If extraction is successful, all collected fragments and wildcards stored in the backpack or Secure Pouch will be kept.
As a reminder, each player starts with the same basic equipment and must search for additional weapons and ammo during the game to survive and collect Sigma compound. If you are not familiar with the gameplay, please refer to our dedicated article here.
How to participate in the SHRAPNEL Early Access
Once the game is finished, it will be completely Free to Play. However, during the Early Access phase, purchasing one of the 3 Extraction packs is required (30% off each pack with code COINACADEMY).
For now, the game is only available on PC (Windows) on Epic Games.
Each Extraction pack unlocks different content. For example, the Light Extraction Pack priced at $20 unlocks the following content: early access to the game, 1 MEF Operator, 1 Equipment Pack, 6 weekly drops, 1 consumables pack, and more after Early Access.
After purchasing at least one of the game’s Extraction Packs, download the SHRAPNEL game on Epic Games and log in when Early Access is open. The game is not available 24/7, the team makes it playable during specific time slots communicated on their Twitter account.
Introduction of the new weapon skin crafting system
The standout feature of STX 3 is the introduction of the weapon skin crafting system. Players can now create exclusive skins by collecting weapon skin fragments and wildcards.
Each weapon skin will require three unique fragments (A, B, and C) which can be obtained in-game or purchased on the new online marketplace.
The rarity of skin fragments varies, with rarer fragments being harder to find and typically appearing later in gameplay sessions. Wildcards can be used to replace any missing fragment, making the creation of rare skins easier. They can be found in-game or purchased on the marketplace but cannot be resold by players.
To ensure the security of your fragments and wildcards, the Secure Pouch has been introduced. This secure bag can hold up to three items and ensures that you retain your fragments even if you are eliminated before extracting. If you successfully extract, all fragments and wildcards stored in the Secure Pouch will be kept.
SHRAPNEL Marketplace: Buying and selling skins and fragments
The launch of the version 1 of the marketplace allows players to buy and sell weapon skins and fragments. This marketplace offers various functionalities such as searching by object name, type, or rarity, as well as displaying transaction and ownership history. Transaction fees amount to 5%, but there are no listing fees.

Fragments of weapon skins and skin crafting
Each set of weapon skin fragments is unique to the skin it can create. To create a skin, simply combine the fragments in-game, which will consume those fragments.
Fragments can be found in-game in crates and other lootable objects, or purchased from other players on the marketplace.
The cost of crafting skins varies according to their rarity: Common – 5 SHRAP, Rare – 10 SHRAP, Epic – 20 SHRAP, Legendary – 50 SHRAP.
Rarity of weapon skin fragments
Weapon skin fragments inherit the rarity of the skin they compose. For example, if the skin is epic, the fragments will also be epic. The rarer the skin, the harder its fragments will be to find, usually available later in gameplay sessions. The rarity of each fragment is easily identifiable by a color indicator.
Wildcards for fragments
In addition to skin-specific fragments, there are wildcards that can replace any missing fragment, regardless of rarity. Wildcards can be found in-game or purchased on the marketplace, but cannot be resold by players.
Secure Pouch
The Secure Pouch ensures the backup of your fragments and wildcards, even in the event of failed extraction or death. It can hold up to three items. Place your fragments and wildcards inside it during the game. If you succeed in extraction, you will retrieve all fragments and wildcards from your backpack and Secure Pouch.
