Trump Media’s Bold Move: Share Buyback Plan and Bitcoin Strategy

Trump Media initiates a $400 million share buyback plan, separate from its recently acquired Bitcoin reserve.

The share buyback plan of Trump Media will be separate from the Bitcoin reserve

Trump Media and Technology Group (DJT), the parent company of Truth Social, is flexing its financial muscles: $400 million will be used to repurchase its own shares on the stock market.
The operation will take place on the secondary market and the repurchased shares will be immediately taken out of circulation, resulting in a reduction of the float and direct support for the share price.

However, this buyback plan will not touch the Bitcoin reserves the group has recently accumulated. The message is clear: the crypto treasure remains untouched.

A dual strategy: shareholder return + Bitcoin reserve

With about $3 billion in cash on hand, Trump Media can afford to send two strong signals simultaneously:
– supporting its shareholders through a massive buyback;
strengthening its long-term Bitcoin strategy.

Just a few weeks ago, DJT raised over $2 billion from around fifty institutional investors to build up a Bitcoin reserve. A strategy inspired by MicroStrategy, with a significant difference: here, Trump is betting on the political power of crypto. And this is not a detail for the new president of the United States.

Crypto.com and Anchorage backing up

To manage this digital treasure, Trump Media is partnering with two heavyweights: Crypto.com and Anchorage Digital, who will provide custody services.
This ensures the security of the funds while reassuring the markets. The move clearly places DJT among the most Bitcoin-committed publicly traded companies.

An immediate impact on the share price

The result? The market applauds. The announcement of the share buyback caused the stock to surge by over 3.8% at the opening, reaching $18.50.
This increase reflects both investors’ confidence in the financial strength of the group… and their appetite for a crypto-friendly strategy championed by a former U.S. president.
