Telegram to Share Advertising Revenue with Users in March, with 50% of Revenue Going to Channel Owners
Telegram, the privacy-focused messaging giant, will begin sharing advertising revenue with users in March, announced Pavel Durov, founder of Telegram, in a message broadcasted on his official channel on Wednesday.
Monetization and Revenue Sharing
“Channels on Telegram generate 1 trillion views monthly. Currently, only 10% of these views are monetized with Telegram ads – a privacy-conscious promotional tool,” wrote Durov.
In March, Telegram’s Advertising Platform will officially open to advertisers in nearly one hundred new countries. Channel owners in these countries will start receiving 50% of all revenues that Telegram generates by displaying ads in their channels.

Settlement via the TON Blockchain and Token Gains
All payments and withdrawals will be settled on the TON blockchain, a network created by the same company that built Telegram.
The network’s native token, TON, surged by 30% since the announcement, surpassing $2.8.
