Strategy Emerges as the Foremost Bitcoin Reserve

Strategy doesn’t stop. Between July 14 and 20, 2025, the company acquired 6,220 bitcoins for a total of $739.8 million, at an average price of $118,940 per BTC. This staggering figure confirms the group’s bold strategy: transforming its balance sheet into a digital safe.

With this new acquisition, Strategy now holds 607,770 BTC. It is simply the largest stash of bitcoins held by a publicly traded company. Total amount invested? $43.61 billion. Current stock value? Approximately $71.6 billion.

Strategy doesn’t let go of its Bitcoin plan

At this level, we are no longer talking about a mere “crypto bet.” Strategy now joins the big leagues. The value of its bitcoin holdings surpasses that of behemoths like ExxonMobil and ranks 9th among the largest treasuries in the S&P 500, just behind General Motors.

The chart shared by Michael Saylor is clear: this mountain of BTC places the company on par with tech or energy giants. A clear sign that bitcoin is no longer a marginal asset; it is becoming a true global treasury management tool.

A treasury that rivals the S&P 500

This accumulation marathon is funded by a mix of stock sales, convertible note issuances (such as last February), and operational cash. Nearly every Monday, Strategy announces a new wave of purchases, disciplined and consistent. For Saylor, Bitcoin is a better store of value than fiat currencies or Treasury bonds. And he proves it every week with his checkbook.

An inspiring example, yet an undisputed leader

Behind Strategy, roughly 140 publicly traded companies now hold BTC in their treasuries. Among them: MARA, Metaplanet, Riot Platform, and Twenty One. But the comparison stops there. None come close to the symbolic threshold of 3% of the total Bitcoin supply, which Strategy now brushes against.

Meanwhile, analysts at TD Cowen revise their forecasts upward. They project a BTC price of $155,000 by December 2025, adjusting their target for Strategy’s stock to $680 (compared to $590 previously). Proof that the market is starting to see this strategy as a performance lever… rather than a maximalist whim.

The hour of reckoning approaches

If Bitcoin reaches the targets set by some analysts, Strategy could soon see its treasury flirt with $100 billion. A prospect that, just two years ago, would have seemed fantastical.

And while MSTR has just entered the realm of giants, today, it’s the S&P 500 that watches Strategy from the corner of its eye.
