Solana Plans to Launch a Successor to its Saga Phone
Solana Mobile is preparing to launch a new model of its Saga phone.
The new phone will retain the beloved features of the Saga model, including an integrated crypto wallet, decentralized app store, and customized Android software.
However, this model will be distinguished by different hardware and a more affordable price, targeting an even broader audience.
This announcement comes at a time when demand for the Saga phone has experienced a significant surge since the end of last year.
The Recent Craze Surrounding Solana’s Saga
The Saga phone, initially priced at $1000, had its price reduced to $599 after a lackluster start in terms of popularity.
However, in December, the craze around the Saga phone dramatically shifted when the price of the Solana-based memecoin, bonk, skyrocketed, creating a notable arbitrage opportunity for phone holders who received 30 million bonk tokens.
Not to mention all the other airdrops they have received, as well as those they will receive in the weeks and months to come. Ultimately, buying a Saga during the December promotion exposed you to rewards exceeding the phone’s purchase price.
Despite a subsequent decrease in the value of bonk, the Saga phone continued to generate significant interest, with secondary sales reaching high prices. This suggests a promising future for the successor to the Saga, both in terms of innovative features and investment potential.
