Introducing Solana’s New ‘Actions’ and ‘Blinks’ Features for Seamless On-Chain Transactions.
The Solana Foundation has recently unveiled an innovative feature that allows its blockchain to be connected to any website through a shareable link.
This new offering, called Solana Actions and ‘blinks’ (blockchain links), enables any website with a URL to execute a Solana transaction.
Fully Functional and Diverse Applications of Blinks
The announcement on June 25th reveals that this solution enables the generation of a shareable link displaying a Solana transaction interface. For example, it will be possible to share a link on X (formerly Twitter) that allows users to make a crypto transaction without leaving the page. This feature could be utilized for crowdfunding campaigns, online purchases, on-chain voting, and more.
Chris Osborn, the founder of Dialect, the developer behind Actions, explains:
From your X feed, you can buy an NFT, tip a creator, receive money, vote, stake, trade, and much more.
Utilization on Various Platforms and Security
Blinks can be shared on websites, social media platforms, and physical QR codes. Jon Wong, the Engineering Lead for Solana Foundation, highlights that these actions enable any website or application to become a distribution point for on-chain interactions.
To ensure user security, the Solana Foundation has implemented a security roadmap for this new feature. Users will have the option to enable wallet support for Actions and blinks.
Actions and blinks are similar to ‘connecting’ your wallet to DApps – trust the sites you know and use, just like you trust the DApps you know and use.

When a wallet tries to sign a transaction from an unknown API for the first time, users will see a standard prompt to ‘connect to the site.’ If the domain of the site has already been connected to the wallet, the domain is more likely to be trusted. All Action and Blinks transactions are simulated before execution to enhance security.
Partnerships and Integration
The initial launch is being done with Solana-approved domains, including Jupiter, Meteora, Sanctum, Helium, Truffle, Phantom, and Backpack. These partners will help secure the implementation of the new features.
