Martin Shkreli Confirms Creating DJT Token in Cooperation with Barron Trump
The DJT token, allegedly linked to Donald Trump, has garnered significant interest in the crypto community this week, with various dramas unfolding.
After multiple shocking statements, it was quickly revealed that Martin Shkreli is actually behind this token.
Shkreli’s Multiple Declarations
Martin Shkreli revealed during a discussion on X, followed by thousands of people, that he co-created the DJT token with Barron Trump. This announcement came after Shkreli had denied any involvement, even in the face of investigations by influential crypto figures like GiganticRebirth (GCR) and ZachXBT. Shkreli stated in a direct message to ZachXBT: “I have 1000 pieces of evidence that I created it with Barron,” confirming his statements on his podcast on X.
The Traders’ Investigations and Challenges
The DJT token initially attracted attention due to its supposed connections to Donald Trump and his son Barron. Blockchain investigators discovered that the DJT Telegram channel shared the same administrators as a token backed by Shkreli. Shkreli denied these allegations as the token continued to gain popularity.
The situation took a new turn on Tuesday evening when anonymous trader GCR challenged the supposed involvement of Trump in the token. GCR wagered $100 million that Trump was not involved in the project, a bet initially proposed by trader Alex Wice for $1 million. Shkreli responded by provoking large token holders, catching the attention of GCR, a known Trump supporter.
DJT experienced a significant drop, plummeting 60% in 24 hours.
Reward for Discovering the Creator
Following GCR’s announcement, blockchain intelligence firm Arkham offered a $150,000 reward for anyone who reveals the creator of the DJT token. ZachXBT, known for his detailed investigations, submitted his findings to Arkham, along with messages and statements from Shkreli on X.
Shkreli is now demanding that GCR honors his $100 million bet, claiming he co-created the token with Barron Trump. Thus far, the Trump campaign has not responded to requests for comments, and Trump himself has not mentioned the token on his TruthSocial platform.
Meanwhile, some major holders of DJT and Shoggoth.ai, another Shkreli project, have profited from the situation. ZachXBT reported that a DJT insider sold nearly $830,000 worth of tokens on Tuesday evening, while retaining a significant amount of SHOGGOTH tokens.
