The blockchain network Plume, specializing in tokenizing real-world assets (Real-World Assets, or RWA), has officially launched its mainnet named Genesis. A milestone that the team describes as a major turning point for the ‘next generation’ of decentralized finance backed by tangible assets.
Plume launches its Genesis mainnet
From its inception, Plume has strategic partnerships with heavyweights in traditional finance. Blackstone and Invesco, two of the world’s largest investment institutions, are already integrated into the Plume ecosystem, together representing over $150 million in tokenized RWA assets. In addition, there are integrations with major DeFi protocols like Curve and Morpho, strengthening the bridges between traditional finance and decentralized infrastructures.
Immediate integration with financial giants
In full swing, Real-World Assets stand out as one of the most promising segments of crypto. Their integration into DeFi represents a colossal challenge: transforming assets such as real estate, commodities, or financial products into tokens compatible with DeFi tools, allowing their use in lending, farming, or collateralization strategies.
With Plume, these tokenized RWAs become interoperable with traditional DeFi primitives. Users can access returns linked to real assets, while maintaining the flexibility and transparency of on-chain protocols.
RWAs, catalyst of a market estimated in the trillions
Already well-funded, Plume raised $20 million in Series A funding last December and claims to have onboarded $4 billion in assets into its ecosystem. But the team’s vision doesn’t stop there.
In the coming months, Plume plans to introduce new asset classes: tokenized art pieces, precious metals, uranium, collectible cards… Sectors where tokenization could transform liquidity and accessibility.
An ambitious vision and upcoming novel use cases
With Genesis, Plume establishes itself as a key player in the ‘RWAfi’ era, where the boundary between traditional finance and DeFi becomes blurrier than ever, in favor of a more robust, diversified ecosystem connected to the real world.
