Ondo Finance and Pantera Capital launch a $250 million fund, named Ondo Catalyst, to finance projects related to the tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs).
The fund adopts a hybrid strategy: equity investments and tokens to support projects at all stages of their development.
Ondo is already a major player in RWAs with its OUSG and USDY tokens backed by Treasury bonds, and the timing of the initiative aims to meet the growing demand for on-chain infrastructure.
Ondo and Pantera Accelerate RWAs
Ondo Finance and Pantera Capital are awakening: the two giants in digital finance are launching a $250 million fund to invest in the tokenization of real assets. Codename: Ondo Catalyst. The goal? To support projects building the infrastructure for the future financial market, one that will largely operate on-chain.
This is more than just a bet on a trend. It’s a statement: traditional finance is moving towards blockchain. And those who are building the rails today could become the BlackRock of tomorrow.
From Venture Capital to Tokens: A Double-Barreled Plan
Unlike other initiatives, Ondo Catalyst will not just buy tokens. The program will combine equity investments and token investments to support projects at every stage of their growth.
“The global financial system is undergoing a transformation“, says Nathan Allman, founder and CEO of Ondo.
Why It Changes Everything for RWAs
Tokenization is moving from talk to action. These “Real World Assets“, such as stocks, bonds, real estate, treasury bonds, are now reproduced as tokens, with the ambition to modernize markets that have been stagnant for decades.
The benefit is clear: 24/7 trading, more liquidity, fewer intermediaries, reduced costs, and global accessibility. Within months, heavyweights like Robinhood, BlackRock, Franklin Templeton, and Kraken have positioned themselves.
On its part, Ondo has emerged as a leader in the sector. Its OUSG and USDY tokens, backed by US Treasury bonds, have a combined market capitalization of nearly $1.4 billion according to RWA.xyz. The company is also developing its own blockchain specialized in RWAs.
The Timing Is Perfect
In 2025, tokenization is on track to become one of the pillars of decentralized finance and institutional finance. The launch of Ondo Catalyst comes at a strategic moment: large companies are looking to enter the game but lack reliable infrastructure and strong technical partners.
With Pantera on the capital side, and Ondo on the technology side, the duo could well become the catalyst the industry needed to reach a new level.
