Galaxy Digital Pioneers Direct Stock tokenization on Solana Blockchain

Galaxy Digital makes a bold move: the company led by Mike Novogratz brings its Class A ordinary shares directly onto the Solana blockchain. A significant first for a Nasdaq-listed company, done in partnership with Superstate and its Opening Bell platform.

Des actions Galaxy 100 % conformes, mais disponibles on-chain

Unlike synthetic products or “wrapped stocks” often offered in DeFi, these Galaxy Digital shares are indeed issued by the company itself. They retain all rights of a SEC-registered security, while enabling investors to hold and transfer them directly on the blockchain.

Superstate acts as a transfer agent: every token movement between verified wallets is automatically recorded in the official shareholder register. Result: total regulatory compliance, combined with the efficiency of Web3.

Why it’s a turning point for finance

The tokenization of traditional assets has been accelerating for several months. Giants like Robinhood, Gemini, or Kraken have already experimented with similar products, mainly aimed at European investors. But these initiatives have often been criticized for their limited shareholder rights or vague regulatory framework.

Galaxy adopts a different strategy: direct integration. Here, no half-measures: actions are issued on-chain, traceable, with the same legal protections as a stock listed on Nasdaq.

This approach aims to marry the best of both worlds: the transparency and speed of blockchain settlement, with the solidity of American financial regulation.

Un signal fort pour Wall Street et la crypto

For Mike Novogratz, founder, and CEO of Galaxy Digital, this operation is above all a demonstration of vision:

Our goal is to create a tokenized share that brings the best of crypto, transparency, programmability, and composability, to the traditional world.

The message is clear: while the tokenization of bonds or money market funds is already established, the tokenization of listed stocks is entering a new phase. By choosing Solana, known for its speed and low transaction costs, Galaxy Digital is betting on a blockchain capable of handling institutional volume.

What impact on the crypto market?

By August 2025, the tokenization market is estimated at several trillion dollars potential by the end of the decade. The arrival of a Nasdaq-listed player like Galaxy Digital strengthens the credibility of this trend. For crypto investors, it is an additional sign that the boundaries between traditional financial markets and blockchain are disappearing.

The Galaxy Digital shares thus become a real-life laboratory: if the model is successful, other listed companies could follow suit. And with them, a true shift towards an on-chain capital market, 24/7.
