Han Chang-joon, formerly the Chief Financial Officer of Terraform Labs, has been extradited to South Korea by Montenegro to face criminal charges.
Han was arrested in March 2023 alongside Terra co-founder Do Kwon for attempting to travel with forged documents and was sentenced to four months in prison.

Han Chang-joon, the former Chief Financial Officer of Terraform Labs, has been officially extradited to South Korea by Montenegrin authorities, according to an official notice published on Monday. Han was arrested with Do Kwon, co-founder of Terra, in March 2023, as they attempted to board the plane with forged travel documents. They were later convicted and sentenced to four months in prison by a Montenegrin court.

Both men have been held in custody pending Montenegro’s decision on their extradition. Both the United States and South Korea have requested the transfer of Do Kwon to face criminal charges concerning the collapse of Terraform Labs in May 2022. According to the announcement by the Montenegrin police, Han has been “handed over” to South Korean authorities “to carry out criminal proceedings for multiple criminal offenses related to fraud in financial investment services, investments, and the capital market.”
