Diego Oliva Steps Down as CEO of Starknet Foundation, replaced by James Strudwick as Executive Director

The Starknet Foundation has announced the departure of Diego Oliva from his position as CEO.

Oliva, who has held the role since March 2023, will be replaced by James Strudwick, who now takes on the role of Executive Director. Oliva will remain in the position for another month to ensure a smooth transition.

Contributions of Diego Oliva

Under the leadership of Diego Oliva, the Starknet Foundation has undertaken several significant projects aimed at developing the Starknet ecosystem. Successfully executing the Provisions project, Oliva has also launched various ecosystem development programs, including ‘DeFi Spring,’ Seed Grants, as well as Catalyst and Propulsion programs.

Expansion of Infrastructure and STRK Performance

During his tenure, the foundation has signed agreements with over 100 infrastructure teams, strengthening the technical and operational foundations of Starknet. These collaborations have played a crucial role in the growth and adoption of the Starknet ecosystem, laying the groundwork for future developments and innovations.

Despite efforts, the native token of Starknet, STRK, has plummeted since its launch, with a -84% performance since its ATH at $2.7 in March.

Nomination of James Strudwick and Future Outlook

James Strudwick, who has been with the foundation since January 2024, will take over as the Executive Director. Strudwick is expected to continue the efforts in the growth and adoption of Starknet, building upon the solid foundation established by his predecessor. The foundation has expressed confidence in Strudwick’s ability to lead Starknet towards new horizons.

Diego Oliva will continue to work with the Starknet Foundation for another month to facilitate the leadership transition. This transition period is crucial to ensuring the continuity of ongoing projects and allowing Strudwick to adapt to his new responsibilities.
