Chainlink Integrates Circle’s CCTP into its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP)

Chainlink, one of the largest decentralized oracle protocols in the ecosystem, has announced its integration with Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP). The CCTP from Circle is now integrated into Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), a cross-chain messaging protocol.

This collaboration aims to facilitate secure cross-chain transfers of the USDC stablecoin throughout the ecosystem.

Sergey Nazarov, co-founder of Chainlink, expressed his enthusiasm for this initiative, emphasizing the importance of Chainlink’s CCIP security infrastructure.

I am pleased to see that the CCIP’s defense-in-depth security infrastructure, with multiple levels of decentralization, is highly valued by developers building with USDC.

Enhancing interoperability within DeFi

Circle’s CCTP protocol, already available on seven networks including Arbitrum, Avalanche, Ethereum, and Polygon PoS, plays a key role in improving interoperability between different blockchains. Chainlink’s integration with Circle’s CCTP further strengthens this interoperability, allowing for native transfers of USDC between these networks.

With this integration, Chainlink and Circle demonstrate their commitment to developing innovative solutions to meet the growing needs of the crypto ecosystem.
