The Instagram account of the group Migos was hacked on Monday night, exposing highly sensitive personal information about Raj Gokal, the co-founder of Solana, and president of Solana Labs. A sudden and alarming leak, with a possible 40 BTC blackmail in the background.
Passeport, permis et menace explicite
For over an hour, the 13 million followers of the @migos account were able to see seven posts featuring selfies of Raj Gokal holding his passport and driver’s license, both fully visible. Other images showed a woman said to be his wife, also holding an ID card. All published without blurring, without filters, without restraint.
One post, in particular, caught attention: “You should’ve paid the 40 BTC,” clearly suggested blackmail targeting Gokal. As a finishing touch, the hacker included a link to a Telegram group to promote a memecoin, a typical strategy in extortion campaigns.
Une attaque ciblée et méthodique
The incident doesn’t seem to have come out of nowhere. As early as May 21, Gokal had warned on X (formerly Twitter) that repeated attempts to take control of his accounts, email, social networks, Google, Apple, were ongoing. This appears to be a coordinated campaign aimed at exfiltrating and exploiting his personal data, possibly for a crypto blackmail scheme.
Solana Labs has not yet publicly responded. The silence looms large as the incident is already circulating widely within the crypto ecosystem.
Le fléau des comptes de célébrités piratés
This hack is part of a series of compromised celebrity accounts, often hijacked for crypto scams. This time, there’s no fake giveaway or false promise of returns: the attack is direct, personal, and potentially criminal.
