ETF Bitcoin Not (Yet) Approved:
SEC’s Official Twitter Account Allegedly Hacked, Spreading Fake ETF Approval News
The official SEC Twitter account, X (formerly Twitter), which had previously announced the approval of Bitcoin ETFs, was allegedly hacked, leading to the publication of misleading information, according to Gary Gensler.
In a tweet, SEC Director Gary Gensler states that the regulator has not yet approved the listing and trading of spot Bitcoin exchange-traded products.
Hack or Programming Error?
Speculations are rife in the cryptosphere, with Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas suggesting that the SEC may have potentially scheduled their tweet a day too early.
The analyst further highlights that the approval of Bitcoin spot ETFs is still scheduled for this Wednesday between “4-5pm”, or between 10-11pm.
