Behind ASTER lies a lesser-known project in the derivatives market. Rebranded in 2025, it succeeded several old tokens, including APX, before reemerging in a unified form in September during its token generation event.

With a total supply ceiling of 8 billion tokens, over half of the supply is dedicated to the community: airdrops, incentive programs, and strategic distributions. An approach aimed at rapidly attracting new users… but also raising questions about long-term selling pressure.

The intervention of the Binance founder ignited a speculative powder keg. By posting a message endorsing the ASTER launch as a ‘strong start,’ CZ provided the project with unexpected visibility. Exchange volumes soared, and ASTER-linked wallets saw a massive influx in USDT, according to on-chain data.
In a matter of hours, ASTER became one of the largest wallets on the BNB Chain, just behind Binance-associated addresses. For investors, this move was seen as a vote of confidence. But in a narrative-driven market, such momentum can quickly fade.
Beware of the Backlash
Euphoria should not overshadow the fundamentals. High supply, fierce competition (especially with rivals like HYPE), and the lack of solid data on real trading volumes cast doubt on the rally’s sustainability.
Today, ASTER benefits from a strong spotlight, but its future will rely less on CZ’s tweets and more on its ability to establish itself as a true decentralized alternative in the derivatives market.
