Arbitrum Network Experiences 2-Hour Outage

The Arbitrum Network Experiences 2-Hour Outage:

Arbitrum, a layer 2 solution on Ethereum, suffered a technical outage.

The outage was caused by a surge in registrations.

Transactions were interrupted for approximately 1.5 hours.

A “Partial Outage” Caused by Increased Traffic

Arbitrum recently experienced a technical outage affecting the entire network.

An exceptional influx of registrations, inspired by the Bitcoin Ordinals, overloaded the network, resulting in a halt of transactions, or more specifically, the “sequencer“, for approximately 1.5 hours.

The team is actively investigating, but we can confirm that a sustained surge of registrations prevented the sequencer from relaying transactions correctly.
