The exchange platform Crypto.com has already placed itself as an official sponsor of the most watched event in the world.
High-profile, star-studded athletes are the perfect poster children for this kind of business. American soccer quarterback Tom Brady last year took a stake (in an undisclosed deal) in the crypto-currency exchange FTX and became an ambassador for the company. In January of this year, it was basketball player Lebron James who signed a partnership with the aggressively marketed Crypto.com platform.
In this direction, Socios.com, a Fan Tokens company, has just signed a 20 million dollar contract with the international sports star: Lionel Messi.
The Argentinean had agreed to receive part of his salary at PSG (1 million euros per year) in $PSG, the Fan Token of the Parisian club. This last one had moreover known an impressive increase in price to the signature of the star.
This new ambassador contract settles for an initial period of 3 years, while payments should not be made in crypto currency according to various sources.
On the player’s official website, messi.com, the promotion of the crypto company is already underway:
