Kraken Revolutionizes Trading by Introducing Commission-Free US Stocks and ETFs

Cryptocurrency platform Kraken has entered a new era by offering its users commission-free trading of US stocks and ETFs. This strategic move positions Kraken as a key player in the convergence of traditional finance and digital assets.

Kraken Blends Crypto and Traditional Markets

Starting today, residents of ten US jurisdictions can buy and sell over 11,000 US-listed stocks and ETFs directly from their Kraken accounts, without any commission fees. This offering is available through the mobile app, Kraken Pro, and web interface, providing users with a unified experience for managing their portfolios of stocks, cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and liquidity.

Kraken now joins the exclusive ranks of crypto-native platforms that seamlessly connect to traditional markets. This new feature is made possible through Kraken Securities, a subsidiary regulated by the FINRA overseeing the company’s stock operations.

Towards a Unified Model and Redesigned User Experience

By enabling stock splitting, instant reinvestment of sales, and centralized management of assets, Kraken aims to attract a new generation of investors seeking simplicity and responsiveness. This all-in-one model brings Kraken closer to the standards set by platforms like Robinhood or Public while retaining its crypto DNA.

The future of trading knows no boundaries, is continuously accessible, and is built on crypto infrastructure.

Arjun Sethi, co-CEO of Kraken

For Sethi, this expansion into stocks is just the beginning. It paves the way for a fully interoperable financial system where asset tokenization becomes an inevitability rather than a gamble.

IPO: Kraken Prepares for Public Listing

This launch comes as Kraken prepares for a potential initial public offering (IPO). By joining the ranks of Coinbase, Marathon Digital, and Bitdeer, the company demonstrates its aim for institutional legitimacy without forsaking its roots.

International expansion is also at the heart of this initiative. After the US, Kraken plans to open access to its stock features in Europe, the UK, and Australia. This deployment could accelerate the democratization of multi-asset investment on a global scale.
