Solana Surpasses Ethereum on Google:
In 2023, Google searches for ‘Solana’ have surpassed those for ‘Ethereum.’ This surge in popularity is particularly notable in Spain and the Philippines. Terms associated with Solana include ‘bonk’ and ‘tensor.’
The Rise of Solana on Google
A significant shift in Google search trends occurred in 2023, as Solana surpassed Ethereum. Between December 17th and 23rd, Solana scored 56 compared to Ethereum’s 50, indicating a notable spike in interest. Over the past 90 days, Solana’s score has been 88 compared to Ethereum’s 51.
This rise in popularity reflects a growing interest in the Solana ecosystem, particularly in countries like Spain and the Philippines. Meanwhile, Ethereum maintains a strong presence in regions such as Indonesia, Taiwan, and Morocco.
The Factors Behind this Surge
The increased interest in Solana can be attributed to several factors. For example, the term ‘bonk,’ a memecoin representing a dog, experienced a significant rise, as did ‘tensor,’ an NFT marketplace developed on Solana. Not to mention all the decentralized protocols (DEX) on Solana, like Jito and Jupiter, which recently gained a wave of new users after the announcement of their airdrop.
As you can see, these trends indicate a broadening of interests surrounding Solana beyond its blockchain function.
In addition, the rise in the price of the SOL token, which recently reached around $120 before returning to $105, has also played a role in its ascent on Google. Furthermore, SOL’s market cap has surpassed Ripple (XRP) and temporarily exceeded BNB.
This shift in trends on Google may signal a change in preferences and investment strategies among investors.
